Alison Doody

Alison Doody has been an Irish model and actor from 11 November 1996. Alison Doody made her film debut as the Bond model on the set of A View to a Kill, (1985). Then she starred in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989. She played Nazi sympathizing archaeologist Elsa Schneider. There were also roles for Siobhan Dovan on the film A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) and Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Doody started modelling when she was approached. The result was that it turned out to be a lucrative career. Doody was determined to steer clear of glamour and nude roles, this was the principle she followed in her acting. Doody was offered a tiny part as Jenny Flex for 1985's A View to a Kill when she was noticed by the casting director. Doody was listed as a part of John Willis Screen World's Vol. 3. She is listed as one of the 12 top actors from 1986. 38. Only 18 years old at the time she acted in the character Doody was - and remains one of the smallest Bond girl to date. A Prayer for the Dying which starred Mickey Rourke in 1987, was a film from the beginning where Doody portrayed IRA Siobhan. Doody was a voice actor in the 1987 television version of The Secret Garden appearing as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias in his dream. She was Sapsorrow in the episode of Jim Henson's fantasy series The Storyteller, opposite John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. She starred alongside Pierce Brosnan, in the 1988 film Taffin. In the following film, she played her most memorable role to date as Austrian Nazisympathiser and Archaeologist Dr. Elsa Schneider playing alongside Harrison Ford. Doody was in the film with Sean Connery in the film in the role of Indy's father. In 1991 Doody was co-starring with Jonathan Pryce in British mini-series Selling Hitler inspired by the publication fraud, also known as the Hitler Diaries. Later, she relocated to Hollywood. She replaced Cybill Shepherd in the L'Oreal spokesperson's role. She then played Flannery Sheen's girlfriend and his agent, opposite Charlie Sheen, as Major League II became available in 1994. Doody, who had been off acting for more than 10 years, returned in 2003 for a minor role in The Actors, a British comedy The Actors in which Michael Caine was her character in a scene at the ceremony for awards. Doody was a co-star, along together with Patrick Swayze, in the 2004 TV film version of King Solomon's Mines. Doody recorded a part in the film of Danny Dyer, The Rapture. Doody appeared on RTE's the medical thriller The Clinic. The project was eventually canceled. Pam Jefferson, the character she played on E4's comedy Beaver Falls during its first season of two years. She also was on the show as Pam Jefferson in We Still Kill the Old Way. On 21 November 2018 she received the Almeria the tierra de cine prize and she received the honor of a star on the Almeria Walk of Fame.
