Mary McDonnell

 

Mary Eileen McDonnell, born April 28th 1952 was an American actress on the stage, on television and in film. Her role in Dances with Wolves, Stands With A Fist and Passion Fish were rewarded with Academy Award nominations. McDonnell is most well-known for her performances in Battlestar Galactica as President Laura Roslin as well as First Lady Marilyn Whitmore, and Rose in Donnie Darko. In the series' seasons 5-7 she appeared as Captain Sharon Raydor and in Major Crimes spin-offs on TNT.
